Drones recognise and follow forest trails in search of lost people (Summary)

This Article is about a group of swiss researchers that thought drones to recognize and follow forest trails. This drones can help find people that are hurt or lost in the woods that cant find themselves out of them. Nearly 1000 emergency calls are received every year due to getting lost in the woods and forests. These swiss researchers created a quadrocopter that can recognize forest trails. These drones have cameras similar to the ones used by our smart phone. These cameras detect and recognize man-made trails. Drones where taken out in the wild and to the trails. More than twenty thousand pictures were taken by these drones. when the drones where tested, the results where that they correctly identified 85 percent of the trails they were at.  There is still a lot of work that needs to be added to these drones. These drones one day might be able to save humans lives.
